VP Software Development Engineer

Role Description:

• As a critical member of the development team, you provide a strong and flexible delivery framework to enable all developers to quickly and safely move from development to production, with quality and reliability.
• You are a team player and can also develop high quality code for the core product, create toolsets to help the business scale, and actively participate in R&D in adjacent technology areas to allow the business to maintain its cutting-edge product position.
• You will learn or become an expert in the APIs, data models, enrichment algorithms, management tools, and capabilities our platform utilizes. You will use this expertise to plan, write and test code for new and enhanced features and offerings, working with Product Management.
• You will generally work independently on tasks but participate as an active team member in daily scrums as part of our agile software development methodology. This includes joining sprint planning meetings as well as estimating work effort on tasks assigned to you and providing guidance to more junior team members. 

A few requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, with Masters or PhD highly valued.
• 10+ years professional experience in software development.
• Excellence in planning, project estimation, and impact analysis skills.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical professionals.
• Strong track record of timely delivery.
• Active communicator in discussions, knowing when to contribute, listen and/or ask questions.
• Ability to think critically and design elegant solutions to challenging problems.
• Experience designing, building and maintaining real-time, large-scale cloud-based applications.
• Coding: Python, SQL, NoSQL, PHP, Javascript, Linux

Preferred but not required:

• Experience with A/B testing tools and processes (strongly preferred)
• Experience with Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning and Image Recognition
• Previous experience developing in Retail technology, eCommerce, or AdTech (strongly preferred)
• Project or team lead experience
